Homo ergaster Nariokotome boy
Discovered in 1984 by Richard Leaky (and described as H. erectus) this is the first skull dated before 100,000 years that is complete enough to get accurate measurements to determine brain size. Many other skeletal parts were also recovered, giving anthropologists a great deal of information regarding size, stature, age of death (probably 12 or 13 years) and whether or not language was possible. Some bones reveal a greater ability to run than modern humans, and some reveal a closer affinity to australopithecines.
